Welcome to Aellaa Collective. A heartfelt blend of heritage, intention, and everyday beauty. Inspired by my two daughters,
Alara and Ella, Aellaa is a collective of all things protective - a carefully curated range of jewellery, homewares, bath and body products, and accessories - each designed to bring balance, mindfulness, and a touch of the mystical into your everyday life.
The essence of Aellaa began long before its name existed. My parents both migrated to Australia from small villages in Ege Bölgesi, Izmir, carrying with them a lifetime of Turkish traditions, beliefs, and superstitions - one of the most cherished being the evil eye, or nazar boncuğu. Growing up, this symbol of protection was ever-present in our home. It wasn’t just décor — it was a quiet guardian, a thread that tied our modern Australian life to generations past.
My connection to the evil eye started early - at just six months old, to be exact. My mum, ever the protective spirit, had safety-pinned a small evil eye charm to my clothing. One day, she came running into my nursery after hearing a sharp cry, only to find I had managed to pull it off and swallow it! You’d think that might have been the end of it, but no. From that moment on, she made sure I never went to a celebration, birthday, or family gathering without an evil eye discreetly pinned to the inside of my clothes.
So, yes, my bond with the evil eye runs deep. It’s more than a cultural token to me; it’s a symbol of mindfulness, awareness, and energetic balance. Do I believe it protects me from every harm this world has to offer? Of course not. That’s not how life works. But I do believe it shields me from negativity and serves as a gentle reminder to stay grounded and aligned with my own energy.
When I glance down at my bracelet or see one hanging in my home, it reminds me that I am protected. But more importantly, that I am responsible for the energy I give and receive. Aellaa Collective was created with that philosophy at its heart. Every item is more than something beautiful to wear or display — it’s a small token of intention, a reminder that you can choose peace in chaos, kindness in adversity, and gratitude in moments of doubt.
Energy is real: both in science and in spirit. It flows through everything we touch and feel. Aellaa Collective invites you to honour that energy — to reconnect with yourself, your surroundings, and your journey.
